A story about Paul.

I don't often post about family, nor do I have my own kids to talk about unlike many of my friends who blog, but I wanted to pass on an email my sister sent to me, because it was so sweet and it made me cry! My nephew Paul who is five, very active and has such a sweet spirit recently had his eye sight tested at preshool. It turns out as Paul told me, "Aunt Shell, I was the only boy in my class who can't see real good, and I am also the tallest boy!" Oh, my goodness, he is so cute! He got fitted for glasses and here is what my sister emailed me about it:

Today was the first day that Paul truly could see the world around him. The eye doctor had prepared us that his vision was so severely off that it would be shocking to Paul when he could really see. Boy was he right!

The first thing that he said to me was "Mom, you look really different!" He also started laughing when we got in the car. He looked at the dashboard and said "Wow, look at all of those buttons and things on Daddy's car!" As we drove away from the eye doctor's office Paul said "Mom, let's go get milkshakes and celebrate I got my glasses." After realizing how hard he has tried for these five years to see on his own, at 9:30 am, I said "Let's go get milkshakes!" Paul started yelling in the car a few seconds later "I can see every store in town Mom!" "Wow, everything looks different!"

It is a whole new world for Paul and he looks so grown up in his glasses.

I am so excited for you Paul to see the world and experience all to it's fullness. You look cool dude!
